You might be in one of these moments right now.
Your identity just got pulled out from under you.
You lost the role, the title, the team or the career that told you who you were. Now you are not sure who you are without it.
The future you planned is gone.
A betrayal, a breakup, a divorce. You thought your life was sorted and you were building a future together. Now the house is quiet and your head is loud.
Life handed you something you can’t fix.
A diagnosis, a loss, a health scare, a phone call you never saw coming. You are strong, and you are still scared.

I know what it’s like to have it all taken in a moment.
I was a professional athlete. In one swift moment, a career-ending injury stripped away the thing I thought I was. My identity went with it.
Later, I found out I had been cheated on, right when I thought my life was fully made and we were planning a future together.
Then came the call from the doctor. “I need you in my office immediately. There’s a mass.”
I’ve stood in the wreckage and wondered who I was now. So when a man tells me he’s there, I don’t need it explained. I’ve either lived what you’re going through, or I’ve coached a man through your exact circumstance.
Everything outside you can change in a moment.
- The job
- The car
- The house
- The relationship
- The family
- The circumstances
It isn’t until you build your identity around who you truly are on the inside that you become unshakeable.
You stop being a man things happen to. You become a force for yourself.
What men say after life coaching with Matt
Reviews from men Matt has coached 1-to-1. Names are shortened for privacy.
“Having someone consistently in my corner”
Small thing, but Matt remembered stuff. He’d bring up something from the week before and actually ask how it went, not just as a formality. Rough weeks didn’t feel like I had to perform progress I didn’t have. We’d just talk through it and figure out the next step. Having someone consistently in my corner mattered more than I expected.
“I trusted my own calls again”
Few things had knocked my confidence and I was second-guessing myself over stuff that didn’t even matter. Hard to explain that to people without sounding dramatic, but Matt got it straight away. No single lightbulb moment. Just noticed a few months in that I trusted my own calls again.
“Looking after myself first”
Started after a breakup, a bit lost if I’m honest. Some weeks I needed to talk it out, other weeks I needed someone to just tell me to get up and do something. Matt read the difference well. Got me back to looking after myself first, then figuring out where I wanted to go from there.
“Control under pressure”
I was snapping over small stuff and then feeling guilty after. On the call we nailed what was underneath it, then built a weekly plan I could stick to. The biggest win was control under pressure without “talking about feelings” for hours.
“I handle it a lot better”
Stressed, treating every single thing like an emergency. Matt’s good at pulling you up when you’re just spinning. We sorted through what was actually mine to deal with versus what I was carrying that wasn’t necessary. Life’s not quiet now (never will be), but I handle it a lot better.
“Not tearing myself apart”
Didn’t realise how hard I was on myself until Matt pointed it out. Miss a workout, have an off day, and I’d write off the whole week. Still want to improve plenty of things, just not tearing myself apart while I do it anymore.

How life coaching with me works
See your true power
Most men in the dark have forgotten what they are actually capable of. We find it again, and look at it honestly.
Build your identity from the inside
We separate who you are from the job, the title, the relationship and the circumstances, so the next hit doesn’t flatten you.
Put it to work in real life
Weekly 1-on-1 Zoom sessions over 8 weeks. Real situations, real conversations and a clear next step each week, with accountability until it holds.
The tools stay the same. The plan is yours.
No two men walk in with the same life, so no two plans look the same. I do not hand you a programme and hope it fits. I build your plan around your situation, using the same set of tools I have used with 2,800 men. Every week you leave with one clear next step, and the next week we check what you actually did. Coaching is not therapy and it is not a pep talk. It is a structured process, built around you.
See what the 8 weeks look like
- 1Take an honest inventory
You score nine areas of your life out of ten: health, relationship, family, career, money, stress, friendships, fun and direction. Numbers, not essays.
Your scores decide where we focus.
- 2Find what is draining you
We check your inner fuel tank: connection, freedom, achievement, space, purpose, fun and progress, and find the need that has been running empty.
Your empty tank is not another man’s.
- 3Set standards you will keep
A short list you can hit every day. Not goals, standards.
Sized to your actual week, not an ideal one.
- 4Say the thing you have been avoiding
The conversation you have been putting off, and then you have it.
Yours might be a partner, a boss, family or yourself.
- 5Pick one direction
What do you want the next twelve months to produce? One or two outcomes, so you stop chasing twenty.
It has to be yours, not what your mates or your industry reward.
- 6Redesign your environment
Make the right behaviour easier to start than to avoid, so the plan no longer depends on willpower.
Built around your home, your work and your habits.
- 7Push harder
Six weeks of consistency earns the right to push. Raise the target, send the application, have the bigger conversation.
The push is set against your target.
- 8Check the evidence, not your feelings
We look at what you did and what changed, then decide what the next eight weeks need to focus on.
Your own numbers, week one against week eight.
My aim is simple: that no matter what happens around you, you know you are going to be okay. And that you can do more than get through it. You can grow from it.
What happens on the free call
10 to 15 minutes. A conversation, not a sales ambush. You leave with a clearer picture and a first step, whether or not we work together.
You tell me where you are
No script, no forms to prep. Say it the way it is. I have heard most of it before.
I show you how I would approach it
What a plan built around your situation could look like, what I would look at first, and a first step you can take with or without me.
We decide if it is a fit
If it is, I walk you through the 8 weeks. If it is not, we end the call there and I will say so directly.

Life coaching for men: common questions
Is this therapy?
No. It’s coaching: practical tools, honest conversation and accountability. It isn’t clinical treatment or crisis support. If something you’re dealing with is better suited to a therapist or doctor, Matt will say so directly. If you’re in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.
What if I haven’t been through anything like what you have?
That’s fine. Matt has either lived what you’re going through or coached a man through your exact circumstance, and the work doesn’t depend on matching stories. It depends on you being willing to look honestly at where you are and do something about it.
Do I have to be at rock bottom to book a call?
No. Some men come in the middle of a crisis. Others come because something has quietly stopped working, such as their sense of direction, their confidence or their relationship, and they don’t want to wait for it to get worse.
What does the 8 Week Reset involve?
Weekly 1-on-1 sessions over Zoom for 8 weeks, done in order: an honest inventory of nine areas of your life, the needs that have been running empty, standards you will keep, the conversation you have been avoiding, one clear direction, an environment that supports you, pushing harder once it is working, and a final check of the evidence. You leave each week with one clear next step, and the next week we check what you did. The tools stay the same for every man, and the plan is built around your life.
Is the coaching personalised, or a set programme?
Personalised. The tools are the same ones Matt uses with every man, but your plan is built around your life, your numbers and your circumstances, because no two men’s lives are the same. What you work on each week comes from your situation, not a template.
Can a life coach help me through a divorce or breakup?
Yes. Coaching can help you get steady, make decisions you will not regret, rebuild your routine and work out who you are beyond the relationship. It does not replace a lawyer, a counsellor or a therapist, and Matt will tell you if you need one of them as well. More on life coaching for men going through divorce.
What is the difference between a life coach and a therapist for a man going through a hard time?
A therapist treats mental health conditions and works with the past. A life coach works on where you are now and what you do next, with practical tools and weekly accountability. Some men use both. If you need clinical support, start there, and coaching can sit alongside it. Read the full comparison.
How long does it take to feel better?
Every man is different, so there is no honest timeline to promise. The 8 weeks is built so you leave each session with a clear next step and act on it, instead of waiting to feel ready. Many men start by getting steady first, then rebuild from there.
How much does it cost?
There are three weekly plans: Check-In Reset at $100 per week, Core Reset at $200 per week, and Intensive Reset at $300 per week, billed weekly in your local currency with no upfront lump sum. The first call is free, and you choose a plan together on that call.
Where do you coach?
Everything is online over Zoom, so you can work with Matt from anywhere, including the USA, Australia, the UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore and the UAE.
